Get Involved

There's a way for you to make impact.

Whether you give an hour, a skill, a gift, or a megaphone — every contribution moves a teacher, a child, or a community forward.

Volunteer

Give your skill. Change a life.

We match volunteers to roles based on the skills you have and the time you can give. Most volunteers commit 4 hours a month — and tell us they get more out of it than they give.

  • Mentor a young person aged 14–24 (Community pillar)
  • Facilitate or co-lead a parent literacy circle
  • Lead a workshop session for our Teacher cohorts
  • Help build or stock a new reading corner
  • Support outreach drives, town halls and events
  • Pro-bono skills: design, legal, finance, comms, IT

FAQ

Common questions.

Is GEAIF a registered non-profit?
Yes. GEAIF is a registered non-profit foundation in Nigeria with appropriate regulatory registrations. Receipts are issued for every donation, and corporate gifts may qualify for CSR tax relief.
How do you decide where the money goes?
Unrestricted gifts are allocated across our three pillars based on quarterly need assessments. Restricted gifts (e.g. "fund a Reading Corner") go 100% to that line item. We publish a quarterly spending breakdown — see our Impact page.
Can I volunteer if I don't live in Lagos?
Yes — many of our pro-bono skill roles (design, legal, finance, comms, IT) and our remote mentor roles work from anywhere. On-the-ground roles in classrooms, reading corners, and community drives are Lagos-based.
How does corporate sponsorship work?
We offer named cohort sponsorships, program-line sponsorships, matched giving programs, and team-volunteer days. We'll build a partnership package tailored to your CSR goals — talk to our partnerships team.
Can I sponsor a specific school or community?
Yes. Restricted gifts can be directed to a particular school, community, or program line. Note we don't take restricted gifts for individual children — for child safeguarding reasons, those go to the program serving them.
How quickly do you respond to a partnership enquiry?
Within 2 working days. Partnership conversations usually then take 2–4 weeks to scope, after which we share a written partnership memo for review.
